Recently, an ultrasonic wireless remote water level measurement device developed by Fujian Aotai Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. was successfully installed and commissioned in a manhole in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. The device uses a "manhole wall expansion bolt + hook" installation method, enabling rapid deployment. This not only reduces construction difficulty and cost but also accurately measures the water level elevation of drainage projects, injecting new momentum into the digitalization of water management.


As a relatively economical underground water level measurement solution in the current municipal sector, this device has the advantage of widespread application and is widely applicable to core municipal projects such as smart cities, digital cities, sponge cities, digital twins, resilient cities, and urban flood control. Underground water level measurement is of great significance in municipal management: on the one hand, it can capture the dynamic water level of drainage networks in real time, providing data support for troubleshooting blockages and siltation, ensuring efficient network operation; on the other hand, it can provide crucial information for urban flood early warning, helping to allocate drainage resources in advance, prepare for emergencies, and simultaneously assist in optimizing drainage system planning, improving the level of refined management of municipal facilities.


From a technical performance perspective, the device employs a non-contact measurement mode, effectively avoiding interference from water quality and debris on the measurement results, significantly reducing maintenance workload. Its unique wave control technology, combined with a specific angle measurement coverage design, balances wave loss due to water surface reflection and abnormal reflection from obstacles, further enhancing measurement stability. Furthermore, the device incorporates an AUTEC ultrasonic module, supporting independent setting of long-wave, medium-wave, and short-wave parameters, accurately controlling the transmitted wave energy. Both the main unit and sensors achieve IP68 protection rating, and with a stainless steel casing, they can adapt to the humid and complex environment inside manholes, meeting the requirements for long-term stable operation.


Regarding battery life and data transmission, the device has a built-in 133 Ah battery. Combined with low power consumption and sleep technology, in a mode of "measuring and uploading data every 5 minutes," it can last up to 7 years, significantly reducing maintenance costs. Data transmission relies on a 4G private network signal, enabling real-time uploading of measurement results to a server, providing reliable support for the dynamic collection and analysis of drainage data, further promoting the intelligent and digital transformation of municipal drainage management.

The device exhibits excellent performance in its core parameters: the ultrasonic transducer operates at a frequency of 40 kHz, the measurement blind zone is only 0.015 meters, the water level resolution reaches 0.001 meters, and the measurement elevation is based on the Pearl River elevation to ensure data accuracy, providing scientific and reliable technical support for Zhuhai's municipal drainage management.
