Fujian Aotai cableway-type electronic current meter put into use at Southwest Hydrological Station, solving the problem of low current velocity monitoring and upgrading efficiency (early November 2025)

Détails

Recently, the cableway-type electronic current meter developed by Fujian Aotai Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. was officially put into operation at a hydrological station in Southwest China. This device requires a cableway lead weight for operation and addresses the pain point of low-velocity conditions becoming increasingly common in hydrological monitoring, where traditional equipment struggles to measure them. Leveraging technological innovation and performance advantages, it provides more efficient and accurate support for hydrological monitoring.

As a new generation of equipment replacing traditional mechanical current meters, this electronic current meter has significant core advantages: First, the device has no moving parts, significantly reducing daily maintenance workload and fundamentally avoiding accuracy loss over long-term use; second, it performs exceptionally well in low-velocity monitoring scenarios, effectively solving the problems of large measurement errors and unstable data in traditional equipment under such conditions. Furthermore, it boasts a fast measurement response speed, completing 5 data acquisitions per second, ensuring the real-time nature and accuracy of monitoring data.

The equipment is also well-suited to hydrological monitoring needs in terms of technical configuration and functionality:

- Measurement and Data Acquisition: Utilizing ultrasonic Doppler measurement principles, it accurately captures water flow velocity. Simultaneously, a built-in water level sensor allows for synchronous acquisition of water level data, eliminating the need for external monitoring equipment.

- Power Supply and Battery Life: Equipped with a built-in 3.7V, 7200mAh rechargeable battery, it supports wireless Type-C charging. A full charge takes 3-4 hours and provides 8-9 hours of continuous use, eliminating reliance on external power sources.

- Signal Transmission: Offers both wired and wireless output options—the wired version uses traditional flow velocity signals and simulated pulse output, while the wireless version transmits data via radio waves, flexibly adapting to different wiring conditions at hydrological sites.
